It’s simply impossible today to do business or manage life’s challenges without using the Internet and e-mail.  Despite significant advances in security technologies and countless mainstream articles about the threats associated with Internet use, new successful scams continue to pop up every day.  Recent investigations into common security breaches reveal that the majority of users reported that they suspected that something was strange, but continued their transactions or communications anyway.

This presentation will introduce a number of clever exploits that attackers use to steal sensitive information and financial data.  These exploits will be shown in an interactive way, giving the audience an opportunity to decide whether the scenario is safe – or not.

Joseph (Joe) Krull is a Senior Manager in Accenture’s Technology Consulting Security Group. He has more than 30 years of experience in security management. Mr. Krull has held senior security positions in the U.S. Government’s intelligence community, Fortune 100 and Global 1000 corporations and has operated as an independent security consultant at dozens of privately held companies and publicly traded corporations around the globe.  Joe has worked in more than 100 countries and has served as the senior security executive at Royal Dutch Philips Electronics, the largest Division of Lucent Technologies and at Telecom Finland.   Mr. Krull is Board Certified in Security Management, is a Certified Information Security Systems Professional (CISSP) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).  In 2006, he was inducted into the Institute of Security Professionals in London.
