Southwest Showcase 2012! Many of you know this event, many of you have attended, many of you have exhibited in the past but there are probably just a few that know the interesting background of this show, how it came to be and continues today as a team effort. This conference, as you may (or may not) know is brought to you by the Austin chapter of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE), the Texas Society of Association Executives (TSAE) and the Texas Hill Country Chapter of Meeting Professionals International (MPITHCC).
Each year on an annual basis all three of these industry associations come together to offer some of the best in industry education and training in a one day time frame. Also part of the event are several networking opportunities and a trade show that offers great opportunities for Southwest Showcase exhibitors to maximize their offerings to an excited and engaged group of meeting professionals and association executives.
From a historical perspective ( i.e. those who were around in the industry before 2000! ) you might remember that all three of these organizations at one time had separate events on an annual basis. In the late 90’s representatives from all 3 associations got together and decided to have one combined, large event that would meet the needs of the many. The decision was made to have the show in Austin each year allowing our local industry planners and association executives to attend the one day conference and not incur the travel costs of going to other cities, it become much more economical and allows for more folks to attend. For over 10 years Southwest Showcase has been going strong creating great memories, bringing business to business opportunities together and continues to be a team effort with the partnering alliance between IAEE, TSAE and MPI THCC.
Registration for this year’s Southwest Showcase is still open and I would like to personally invite you to register today using the links on this page. On behalf of all three of these organizations, we hope to see you on the 26th!
